Consider the importance of discretionary effort
Reflect on factors which motivate them personally to give discretionary effort
Compare teaching to other performative endeavours (sporting and artistic) and learn lessons relating to motivation
Be introduced to the concept of ‘virtue signalling’ and identify its influence in their setting
Plan practical steps to inspire discretionary effort in those they lead
